Thompson Hotel
I stayed at Thompson Hotel and it truly had that wow-factor. The design was sleek and contemporary, with a striking glass façade. From the windows, I saw the most beautiful views of Puget Sound. The interiors were a blend of mid-century and modern elements, with hardwood floors, floor-to-ceiling windows, and carefully curated artwork that gave off a very upscale and sophisticated vibe.
My guest room (a Deluxe King Room with Water View) was hypoallergenic, super chic, and had a real boutique feel. I had superb water views from the window. The luxurious bedding was lush, made of 400 thread count SFERRA linens. The rainfall shower was large and the furnishings were all neatly curated. There was even an honesty bar I used late at night.
I also tried their farm-to-table restaurant, Conversation Kitchen & Bar. It was trendy and fun. I relaxed at The Nest, the rooftop bar, and their cocktail lounge was a nice surprise. They had a modern fitness centre and a superb buffet breakfast every morning. The pet friendly policies made the place feel even more warm.
The location was excellent — right in downtown, near the waterfront and the iconic Pike Place Market.

Palihotel
I thought Palihotel was a charming boutique. It had a really stylish look and felt like a hidden gem. The eclectic decor stood out — with a mix of contemporary style, vintage-inspired touches, bold color palettes, and custom furnishings.
My guest room (a queen room) had bold green decor. It came with luxurious Bellino linens, a sleek marble bathroom with Diptyque amenities, a Nespresso machine, a trendy SMEG mini fridge, a fully stocked minibar, and a large rain shower.
I was really into the cozy corners of the hotel. The lobby lounge felt super cozy, and the coffee bar was honestly cute. Its downtown location was fine, right across the road from the famous Pike Place Market.

Graduate
I stayed at Graduate and it was truly stunning. The hotel felt unique, with a bold Art-Deco inspired boutique vibe. Inside, everything was full of charm — a mix of vintage touches, quirky design, and playful university-themed decor. There were retro furnishings, bold patterns, and collegiate-inspired details that gave it a nostalgic, youthful, and lively atmosphere. The whole place felt buzzy, just like its University District location.
My guest room (a king room) had their signature Art Deco and university-inspired decor. It came with an extra-large double bed, some really interesting art, large windows with scenic views, air con, and even a soaking tub that I totally didn’t expect.
The rooftop? No doubt, it was amazing. It’s cheerfully named the Mountaineering Club — and the breathtaking views from up there made me stay longer than I planned. The hotel also had a 24-hour fitness center, bicycle rentals, and pet-friendly policies that made it super convenient. There were good on-site dining options too.

MOXY Downtown
MOXY Downtown had me charmed the second I walked in. It’s a fun, funky kind of hotel with youthful, upbeat energy that you instantly feel. I’m a fan of that playful vibe, and this place nailed it with its industrial-chic design. You get those cool modern comforts with an open-plan layout and chill social spaces filled with eclectic touches like retro furniture, colorful murals, and even some edgy exposed concrete and piping.
My guest room (a king-sized double) was compact, but it packed a punch. Their signature quirky design came through big time — I had a colorful vintage telephone, an extra-large bed with cozy bedding, soft LED lighting, a wall-mounted smart TV, a spacious rain shower, air conditioning, and some really clever storage solutions that made the room super functional.

Inn at The Market
Inn at The Market felt so charming. It’s a boutique hotel in a fabulous central location, right inside the world-famous Pike Place Market. It felt like a serene retreat, with floor-to-ceiling bay windows offering stunning views of Elliott Bay. The whole place had this mix of contemporary and Pacific Northwest design blended with classic features. A beautiful, calming space to just relax.
My room (a king room) was super spacious, bright, and had a soft retro-style. There were partial views of the bay through huge windows. The extra large custom-made bed had plush Sferra linens, and I had a flat-screen TV, video games, cable channels, a Keurig coffee maker, and even an iPod/smartphone dock. They also offered in-room massage treatments (with an extra fee) if you wanted to unwind.
One of my favorite spots was the rooftop deck. It had breathtaking panoramic views of the Olympic Mountains and Elliott Bay. Downstairs, there’s a zen-like ivy-covered courtyard, and the place is a total foodie paradise.

Lotte Hotel
Lotte Hotel gave off a sophisticated vibe the moment I stepped inside. It’s an upscale, boutique hotel with a chic, contemporary design and some seriously impressive style. The classic details stood out — like the floor-to-ceiling windows, rich marble finishes, and little art deco touches that made it feel both luxurious, warm, and welcoming.
My guest room was a deluxe king room and felt super spacious. The boutique design was clean and soothing, with standout orange wing-back chairs that added personality. I had superb city skyline views, a luxurious marble bathroom with a huge rain shower, and large mirrors everywhere — it all looked perfect.
The hotel had a buzzy downtown location, so getting around Seattle was easy. I checked out the modern, full-service spa with a sauna and steam room, plus a 24-hour fitness center to stay active. Dinner was at the Charlotte Restaurant & Lounge on the 16th floor — good food and stunning views of Elliott Bay and the Olympic Mountains.

The Ace
The Ace felt super quirky and full of personality. It’s a creative, boutique hotel that’s honestly perfect for hipsters and people who love design. The whole space had this retro-inspired, minimalist design with fun, eclectic details, and loads of original artwork. I noticed a lot of vintage furnishings and high ceilings, which added to the cool vibe. It was trendy, sociable, and somehow still laid-back and approachable — nothing intimidating at all.

citizenM South Lake Union
citizenM South Lake Union is a great option if you’re into modern vibes. It’s a funky, tech-savvy kind of stay with a contemporary, modular design. There were lashings of color everywhere and lots of quirky design features that made it fun. The communal spaces were super vibrant, filled with people and energy. Loved the high-tech amenities, too — everything felt super smooth.
My guest room was compact, kind of cabin like, but very smart. It had an extra-large bed with plush pillows, hardwood floors, blackout blinds, air con, a powerful rain shower, and loads of tech features. I used the smart TV to stream free movies, and the app-controlled system let me manage the cool mood lighting, temperature, and all my entertainment options from bed.
The canteenM kitchen was open 24/7 in the lobby, and they served food, drinks, snacks, and good cocktails. It’s located in a buzzy area where you can walk to the Space Needle or Pike Place Market. The modern fitness center helped me stay on routine, and the entire ground floor felt like an inviting shared living room — filled with Vitra furniture, books, and eclectic artwork from local artists.

The Edgewater Hotel
The Edgewater Hotel gave me one of the most unique and romantic stays I’ve ever had. It’s perched right on the waterfront at Pier 67, and the entire four-story, upscale hotel actually extends into the water. You get these unreal beautiful views of Elliott Bay that you won’t forget. The design had this mix of rustic charm and pure nostalgia from its rock ‘n’ roll history — legends like The Beatles, Pearl Jam, Led Zeppelin, and The Rolling Stones all stayed here.
The whole place gave off a serene, intimate vibe, like a cozy Pacific Northwest lodge. I noticed unique touches like river-rock fireplaces and warm wood accents everywhere.
